My Hindu Fairy Introduction

I seem to use this picture regularly when I am exploring new websites and blogs and I have been requested to upload a picture. It is also the picture on my screen saver and wallpaper. I used to have a blog with another website, but I felt disempowered using it. I could only use what the site had to offer. Although blogger has its limits, it offers far more variety compared to the last one (i.e.- themes, gadgets, tools)

I used this picture as my first post. I would have given this picture an introduction on my last blog, but the option wasn't available. All I could do was a title and a subheading. Did no justice for my Hindu Fairy.

I also used this picture as my first Twitter photo and background wall. I think it is pretty. Additionally I used this as a facebook profile picture for a short while. I wonder if blogger gives you the option to crop photos. I find that a great feature on facebook especially since my photoshop skills are poor. It's not that I havn't tried using photoshop, I don't have the programme to begin with. My friend uses photoshop quite a fair bit because she is doing a degree in photography. Coming up to her third year now. Wish her all the best for that.

Moreover, I came across this Hindu Fairy photo when I was searching online for a peaceful looking picture I could hang on my wall in newly decorated bedroom. This was back in 2006. I searched on google for 'canvas pictures'. Then I suddenly remembered I had an ebay account. I quickly cancelled the search, froze the laptop, switched it off then back on again, waited for it to restart and then logged into my ebay account. As I typed in canvas pictures; my laptop crashed again.

Furthermore, at this point in time I was really frustrated and angry so I hit my laptop on the head and left it sitting sorrowfully on the dining table. I walked to my bedroom, took a casual look around the room. Out the window at the sky rats eating week old chappatis which my mum had thrown out the window. Walked back out the bedroom into the kitchen, opened the fridge, not looking for anything in particular, closed the fridge and then caught a glimpse of my sorrowful looking laptop on the dining table.

Realising didn't have much else to do, I restarted the laptop and logged into ebay. As I searched for canvas pictures and browsed through the un-namable footballers and animals, frustratingly I typed into the browser 'strangeling' because I wanted to strangel and choke the internet. I know this is impossible, but at that time, if I could.... I would.

Interestingly, there was an online ebay store shop thing titled 'strangelings art gallery'. I thought how odd. Let me see what has been presented to me. And there it was.... a beautiful picture of this delicate looking girl, holding a pink baby elephant, with a lotus behind her ear and the aum symbol on her dress; titled- Hindu Fairy.

It cost $100. I wanted to strangle the artist at that point for charging so much for something I so wanted. So instead I went to google images and downloaded the picture and then uploaded to everything else I felt necessery.

Now here she is, meet my Hindu Fairy.....
